This article analyzes the effectiveness of fundamental rights and guarantees in ensuring that citizens' rights are upheld. The general objective is to examine fundamental rights and guarantees, while the specific objectives include analyzing the characteristics of these norms and their historical evolution. The methodology applied was bibliographic research, using the hypothetical-deductive approach. The outlined concepts demonstrate that numerous historical revolutions have marked various societies in the pursuit of abandoning absolutist regimes and fighting for the minimum conditions necessary for citizens to live with dignity in society.
