Abstract

This article explores the role of art as a catalyst for emotional education, examining its theoretical foundations and empirical evidence that demonstrate its positive impact on socio-emotional development and mental health. Art, as a means of expression and communication, transcends the barriers of verbal language, allowing the externalization and understanding of emotions in a profound and authentic way, opening a space for the expression of that which often cannot be said in words. Concepts such as catharsis, sublimation, and art therapy provide a theoretical framework for understanding how art acts as a channel for emotional expression and transformation. Empirical studies demonstrate the positive impact of art on emotional education, mental health, and subjective well-being, promoting crucial socio-emotional skills, assisting in stress management, and contributing to a more fulfilling life. Art reveals itself as a powerful tool for self-knowledge, healing, and personal growth, driving transformation in different contexts, such as education, health, and the community. The article aims to understand how artistic expression can facilitate socio-emotional development. The methodology used is qualitative bibliographic research, exploring theoretical foundations and empirical evidence on
the subject. The conclusion highlights art as a powerful tool for self-knowledge, healing, and personal growth, driving transformation in various contexts.
